I recently came across the brilliant work of Louis Reith (b. 1983) an artist and graphic designer from Amsterdam.
With ‘communication’ as the primary aim in his graphic work, Reith seeks tranquillity in his drawings, collages and sculptures. He does this by utilizing old maps, books, found photographs and printed material to create a serene world of mountain landscapes and abstract works where the ultra-graphic competes with the natural.
Reith has exhibited his work in shows worldwide, including Amsterdam, Antwerp, Los Angeles and Nashville. He is also founder and owner of the independent publishing house Jordskred, which focuses on publishing artist books, prints, zines and music.
