Taking inspiration from the grandeur and opulence of the winter opera season at La Scala in Milan, Peroni Nastro Azzurro presents Opera di Peroni. In collaboration with renowned musician, producer and electronic artist Kwes and innovative opera producers Go Opera, the event will see Peroni Nastro Azzurro treating audiences to an immersive reimagining of Italian Opera.
After a summer of successful performances the Autumn/Winter season of Opera di Peroni will see the zeal and spirit of Italian opera return to London in March 2013 and Puccini’s lesser performed opera, La Rondine, transformed into an interactive and contemporary 80 minute production.
This modern operatic experience will tell the glittering tale of young love and betrayal, all expertly sound tracked to stunning melodies and exclusive re-imagined arias produced and performed by Kwes and Go Opera.
Peroni is keen to bring the major Italian cultural institution of opera to UK audiences, and help create the next generation of opera fans, by exposing them to it in a new and interesting way.
Frustrated by continually seeing opera misunderstood, Opera di Peroni Creative Director James Hurley and the team from Go Opera have radically reworked the audio and staging of this classic production to bring it right up to date for an emerging generation of opera fans.
La Rondine will be staged in a restyled warehouse environment where, in keeping with the immersive experience of Opera di Peroni, the boundaries between reality and the imaginary and between performer and observer will become blurred.
Following five nights at Factory 7 in London, the Opera di Peroni production of La Rondine will head to Bristol for a two-day residency at the Bristol Paintworks.
Tickets will be available to purchase on the Peroni UK Facebook page and via www.seetickets.com
