This weekend will see the party of the decade hit the UK, as we celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Cities, towns & villages all over the UK will be throwing street parties and picnics likely to feature plenty of Pimm’s & dancing.

The highlight however, will most certainly take place Sunday, as The Queen travels along The Thames with a fleet of over 1000 ships, boats, yachts & canoes!

If you don’t fancy fighting the crowds to get a glimpse of the queen, one of our favourite East London pubs The Marksman, will be celebrating the pageantry of HRM’s Diamond Jubilee flotilla with their legendary Sunday Lunch. It will be the perfect alternative for those who would prefer to get dressed up for a royal spot of lunch and perhaps some bubbly before the down and dirty street parties begin.

For those unfamiliar with The Marksman, sits just around the corner from Columbia Road Flower Market and is a favourite amongst everyone from the fashionistas and hipsters, to the old East London boys who have been drinking there every day, in the same seat for years. If thats not enough to convince you, it was recently named in TimeOut London’s “Best Sunday Roast” feature.

So even if you can’t make it down for the Jubilee experience, make sure to visit The Marksman on a Sunday to experience a quintessential East London local.
